It is no secret that Liverpool have one of the most threatening strikeforces in the Premier League, but that does not mean that there is no business to be done in the summer.
With the likes of Daniel Sturridge likely to leave due to the end of his contract approaching and Divock Origi also likely to depart Anfield, the need to sign a forward in the next transfer window has become apparent.
This is why they must swoop for Inter Milan attacker Mauro Icardi, a player who fellow Serie A side Napoli have made an offer for according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The 26-year-old has scored 15 goals in 28 appearances for Inter, a figure which would no doubt have many Liverpool fans drooling, especially if he ever combined with the likes of Mo Salah or Roberto Firmino.
It is clear that he has a real eye for goal, something which Sturridge and Origi have been lacking somewhat recently – however, with Icardi on board, Jurgen Klopp would be able to rest easy at night knowing he has more than suitable cover.
Liverpool would be competing for his signature alongside Napoli, but if they end up winning the Premier League this season, then there is no doubt that Icardi would be tempted by a move to England.
He is the perfect player to fill the likely void left by Sturridge and Origi, in fact, he would be able to offer a lot more than they have done in recent times.
The Reds’ attack has somewhat struggled at various points of the season, with even Salah not living up to the hype that the last campaign created for him.
That is why a move for Icardi makes complete sense, so Klopp must make the Liverpool fans roar by signing the talisman.
