Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to recall utility man James Milner for his team’s trip to West Ham United on Monday night.

The Reds stalwart missed last Wednesday’s draw with Leicester City through suspension, however, he will almost certainly take up residence at right back at the London Stadium.

His inclusion will likely see 51 cap international Georginio Wijnaldum drop out of the starting line up, with captain Jordan Henderson shifted into midfield. Naby Keita also looks certain to miss out, with Fabinho returning to the team.

Klopp will be looking for a positive reaction from his players after they failed to increase their advantage at the top of the table against the Foxes.

Alisson is an absolute no brainer in goal and can expect to take his place between the sticks once again, while Andrew Robertson is just as reassuring a presence at left back and will surely start.

Joel Matip was preferred to Dejan Lovren against Leicester and it’s likely that Klopp will continue with the former Schalke man against Manuel Pellegrini’s side. Virgil van Dijk is a near certainty to join him at the heart of the defence. As mentioned, Milner is widely expected to come in at right back with Trent Alexander-Arnold still out injured.

Klopp will likely go with the 4-2-3-1 formation he has favoured this season, meaning that Fabinho and Henderson will almost certainly line up in central midfield.

Further forward, Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane can all expect to start in support of lone frontman Mohamed Salah, who is a dead ringer to take the field on Monday.
