Liverpool are interested in Flamengo teen sensation Reinier Jesus, according to Le 10 Sport.

The reliable French outlet report on their website that the 17-year-old forward has attracted the Reds to his services, with the likes of world heavyweights Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also keen on winning the race for the attacker.

The report adds that Juventus and Manchester City were interested in the youngster a few months ago, and that PSG have already made contact with the Brazilian’s representatives over a potential move.

OPINION

Reinier is obviously quite the talent already if he has attracted the likes of Juventus and City in the past and Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool in the present. To have such high-profile European clubs interested in signing him must be flattering, and it is no doubt indicates that he has the talent to thrive at one of these clubs. It is hard to make a judgement about whether Reinier would be a good fit for the Reds, as there is not much evidence showcasing his talent. Either way though, the Reds face some stern competition in the shapes of the French and the Spanish. PSG have already got a head start after already making contact with his representatives, so Liverpool will have to move fast if they really want him. He would no doubt make a useful asset for the under-18 side as well as the under-23s if he impressed quickly, so moving for the highly rated player is not completely pointless.
