The modern day wing back is something that managers adore in their side but it was the Liverpool supporters who were left drooling on Sunday afternoon after watching Andrew Robertson in action. The Scottish international was exceptional against Tottenham not only in defending against the attacking qualities of the north Londoners, most notably putting in a last ditch block to stop Christian Eriksen just before the hour mark, but in causing his own trouble down the left flank. It was his pin-point cross which Roberto Firmino headed home to give the Reds the lead and it demonstrated exactly why he is loved not only by the Anfield faithful but neutral football fans all over the world. It is performances like this which can win or lose you titles and if Liverpool are to pick up their first ever Premier League trophy, this display – along with all the other brilliant games he has had throughout the season – will have gone a long way to that.
