Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will make a decision on loan midfielder Marko Grujic’s future at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.

The reliable news site claims that the Reds chief will choose in a few months’ time whether to keep the 6ft 3in Serbian [Source: Transfermarkt] at the club, loan him out again or sell him permanently.

However, if Klopp does elect to do away with the 22-year-old central midfielder, those on Merseyside are hopeful of securing at least £20million for him after the progress he has made this season.

Grujic has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and recently expressed his desire to remain in Germany next campaign.

OPINION

It’s no surprise that in the midst of a fight for the Premier League and Champions League Klopp has decided to postpone making a decision on Grujic’s future until the end of the season. There’s no point thinking about the Serbian now, Klopp has quite enough to getting on with at Anfield at the moment. However, this is an important decision for the club. Grujic has made phenomenal progress in the German capital and has proven himself as a quality Bundesliga midfielder. Whether that makes him good enough to make an impact for the Reds remains to be seen, but the potential he has shown at such a young age is extremely exciting. Surely the best thing to do in this situation would be to keep him with Hertha for another season before integrating him into the Liverpool squad ahead of the 2020/21 season. That would keep everyone happy for a little while longer, while giving Grujic the opportunity to make even more progress in Berlin.
