Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to recall midfielder Fabinho for his team’s visit to Southampton on Friday night.

There was widespread surprise when the 6ft 2in Brazil international [Source: Transfermarkt] started on the bench in Sunday’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur, but he will likely come back into the line up at St Mary’s Stadium.

James Milner will surely be the man to make way for the former Monaco star, with the 61-cap former England international having produced a lukewarm effort against Spurs.

That will likely be the only change made by Klopp, as the German sets his team up to try and maintain their momentum in this tightest of Premier League title races.

Alisson is expected to start in between the sticks once again, despite looking slightly nervy against Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Andrew Robertson, a star performer against Spurs will likely maintain his place at left back, as well.

Trent Alexander-Arnold excelled on Sunday and there’s no reason to expect he’ll drop out. Joel Matip, meanwhile, is a dead ringer to start these days, while Virgil van Dijk will surely take his place as long as he recovers sufficiently from the knock he took last time out.

In central midfield, as mentioned, Milner can expect to drop out for Fabinho. However, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum are near certainties to start yet again on Friday.

It almost goes without saying, but Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are all sure to play from the start on the South Coast, with the latter looking to continue his phenomenal form when he returns to his former side.
