Liverpool are one of four Premier League teams interested in Ajax standout Hakim Ziyech, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Jurgen Klopp’s team are at the heart of the transfer battle for the 26-year-old, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal also in the hunt.

German giants Bayern Munich are also sniffing around the Moroccan international, who has scored 19 goals and bagged 20 assists this season for the Champions League semi-finalists.

Ziyech is thought to be available for just £25million, a bargain price for someone of his talent.

OPINION

Now we’re talking. This is exactly the sort of player Liverpool should be looking at, and at £25million a move for Ziyech is an absolute no-brainer. The Moroccan is a top class talent who has excelled as part of this excellent Ajax team. His side have put Real Madrid and Juventus to the sword in the Champions League and he’s been a big part of that, scoring twice in two games against the former. He would fit in perfectly with the Reds’ fluid front three, although there would need to be some recalibration of that forward line were Ziyech to arrive. The problem is that there will obviously be plenty of competition for the player, particularly when he’s available for such a criminally low price tag. With City, United and Arsenal interested it’s going to be very difficult for Liverpool to snare him. However, were they to win the Premier League and potentially the Champions League, too, it will be difficult for anyone to say no to them.
