Georgie Bingham claimed that Liverpool attacker Daniel Sturridge was ten times classier than his teammate Divock Origi.

The talkSPORT host shared her opinion on the Reds forward while discussing his future and highlighted that the only real problem with him, is his injury record.

“I don’t doubt Daniel Sturridge’s talent ever but the man is made of glass unfortunately,” said Bingham on talkSPORT (Sunday April 14th, 8:38am).

Tony Cascarino then delivered his verdict on Sturridge and pointed out the player had “sort of fell out of favour”, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly starting to prefer using Origi instead.

This prompted Bingham to compare the two players and reveal she thought the England international was ten times classier than Origi.

“I still prefer Sturridge to Origi, I think he is ten times classier, he just can’t stay fit or stay in favour as that’s been another problem in his career,” she stated.

OPINION

Bingham is spot-on with her remarks. Sturridge is clearly the classier player but his injury record means that Klopp is right to have Origi higher in the pecking order as it stands. The experienced forward may have stayed injury free this season for the most part, but you still have to carefully manage your use of him, in order to ensure he doesn’t end up on the sidelines. While some may argue that saying Sturridge is ten times classier does a disservice to Origi’s ability, it shouldn’t be viewed like that. There’s still time for the 23-year-old Belgian attacker to improve and reach the same dizzying heights Sturridge has reached in the Premier League. HeĀ  just needs to be more clinical in front of goal for that to happen. While Origi has taken more of his chances to score this season, he has three goals to his name despite his limited minutes, he should still be aiming to improve on his numbers.
