COMMENTARY
Liverpool defeated Southampton 3-1 on Friday and it seems one of the Saints most famous fans Matt Le Tissier, couldn’t help but contest the result to some degree. The Sky Sports pundit took to his personal Twitter account to suggest that while the more talented team may have won, if Mohamed Salah was flagged offside in the build up to Naby Keita’s equaliser, it may have been a different game. Le Tissier then went that one step too far by saying the Reds shouldn’t need the officials to turn the game around, as they undervalued the performance Jurgen Klopp’s side put in. Upon seeing this somewhat cheeky dig at their side, a section of Liverpool fans fired back at the pundit. A couple referred to him being bitter due to his side losing after originally going 1-0 up, while others argued with his issues over the decision he clearly believed changed the game. Salah was offside in the build-up to Keita’s goal but given how the Saints defence reset and had plenty of time to get back in position, it wasn’t the most unjustified decision to not see the flag go up.

Bit one eyed here Matt, official also got it wrong with the definite penalty on Keita. Off side marginal pen a certainty. Swings and roundabouts. Best team won.
