Liverpool fans react to Mane award

OPINION

Not a bad week for Liverpool at all. After picking up decent wins over Southampton and FC Porto, the Reds saw Roberto Firmino pick up Champions League player of the week and Jurgen Klopp awarded Premier League manager of the month. The icing on the cake, however, has been the news that Sadio Mane has picked up Premier League player of the month, as confirmed on the club’s official Twitter account. You have to say that it is fully deserved. The Senegalese international has been fabulous this month, and for the past few months besides. When the Reds have needed a hero to step up and assume the responsibility of being the main man at a crucial point in their season, Mane has done just that, and it’s good to see him getting the recognition he deserves. Up until this campaign he has largely played second fiddle to the likes of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, but there can be little doubt that he has managed to step right out of their shadows in recent times. We’re getting to the business end of proceedings this season now, and Mane could be the Mane that makes or breaks things for the Reds.
