OPINION
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has described Liverpool as lucky after the London club lost 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday and understandably, that has led to some Reds fans on Twitter hitting back at the French goalkeeper. For what it’s worth, Liverpool were lucky. Spurs should have won that game before a defensive mix-up by Lloris led to Toby Alderweireld scoring a stoppage time own-goal that won the game for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Some Liverpool fans admit that Lloris was right to say they were lucky but unsurprisingly, they do not care an ounce. Luck can sometimes win the league for teams. Each team that has ever won a Premier League title has experienced some good fortune on their way, it’s just the way it is. If Liverpool want to be champions then they need to pick up three points in games like this, even though they did not completely convince. Lloris probably isn’t thinking that though, he’s probably just being a bit salty.
