Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has been a hot topic in the last week or so after his start against Southampton last Friday.
Jurgen Klopp decided to plump for the 24-year-old in his midfield alongside Gini Wijnaldum and Fabinho, and it is safe to say that he silenced any doubters that he had after an assured performance that saw him score an important equaliser for the Reds.
He then went on to start Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final first leg clash against Porto on Tuesday, scoring once again to ensure a 2-0 advantage for his team. At the moment, things could not be progressing better for the Guinea international.
Well, if Liverpool have been impressed by what they have seen of Keita recently, then Sadio Mane’s prediction about his teammate will have them even more excited.
“To be honest I think we have more to see from him. At the moment it is going well for him and everyone is very happy for him,” he said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“The real Naby is coming still. He played well the last two games. I know him very well and there is more to come. I think goals always give him more confidence. He scored two goals and I think it boosts his confidence.”
The fact that Mane has suggested that there is still a lot more the £120,000-a-week [Spotrac] ace can offer to the team will surely have the Liverpool fans beyond excited for the rest of the season. Mane obviously thinks that he has not reached 100 per cent yet, and that will surely be a sight to behold when that happens.
Keita has already shown glimpses of what he is capable of this season – cast your mind back to their Premier League opener against West Ham, and he could not have had a better league debut for the Reds.
Either way, the entire Liverpool fanbase will surely love Mane’s prediction here, as it will be exciting to see how Keita can improve.
