Many Liverpool fans are surely salivating over Charlie Nicholas’ claim that Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino is returning to form as he is spot on to do so.

The Sky Sports pundit, while predicting the Reds to beat Porto 2-0 when the pair clash on Tuesday, shared that he thought the 27-year-old was getting back to his best and it’s easy to see why he did that.

“Roberto Firmino is returning to form too,” wrote Nicholas in his predictions for Sky Sports.

The Brazilian forward’s form has been a bit patchy this season as at times he has been a passenger in games before proving his worth a few matches later by being a key player for his side.

Firmino has scored an impressive 14 goals, while assisting seven, and those stats show how influential he can be on the Reds’ attacking power when in form.

The 27-year-old is appearing to get back to his best at the ideal time as the Reds are set for several important games in the coming weeks.

Aside from the Reds still neck-and-neck with Manchester City in the race for the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp’s side know they have a realistic chance of succeeding in the Champions League this season.

The Reds proved they were a force in the prestigious tournament in their 2017/18 campaign, but there are several impressive teams left in the tournament this season and to get past them, they need players such as Firmino to be at their best.

Also aside from likely believing Nicholas’ claim about the forward is spot on, Reds fans will also be thrilled about his remarks as they know Firmino will continue to get better.

The pundit alludes to the fact there’s still more to come from the 27-year-old and considering how impressive he was against Southampton, then supporters can excitedly expect him to improve even further in the coming weeks.
