Liverpool fans have been patient, you have to give them that.

It has been nearly a year since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered his horrendous ligament injury in the Champions League semi-final against Roma, and aside from a brief outing for the U23s a couple of weeks ago, they haven’t seen very much of a player who had already established himself as a firm fan favourite during his brief stint at Anfield prior to getting sidelined.

Anticipation is bubbling, however, with the expectation of his imminent return to action, and that excitement will have skyrocketed after the latest video of the £120,000-a-week [Spotrac] ace to emerge.

Admittedly, he isn’t anywhere near a football, but it’s promising nonetheless.

As reported in the Echo, the Ox is caught on camera by pop star girlfriend Perrie Edwards cutting shapes at a Drake concert in London, and there’s a couple of takeaways to be gleaned from it.

Firstly, the lad’s got some moves to be fair. Secondly, and more seriously, he’s moving with confidence and freedom. That’s not just an evaluation of his dancing, it’s a promising sign of his recovery.

The knee that has been the root of his problems seems to be entirely bother free, and while a bops in a corporate box at the O2 aren’t comparable to 90 minutes in the Premier League, the suggestion would definitely be that the England international is getting back to something like full fitness.

What a bonus that would be for the run in, and while Jurgen Klopp has been teasing it for weeks, surely is comeback must be close.
