Liverpool will announce their decision on the futures of first team duo Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno next month, according to the Echo.

Both players are out of contract at the end of June, and Premier League rules dictate that the club must submit their list of retained and released players by the third Saturday of May.

That means that the Reds are likely to have already made a decision regarding the pair, and the Echo names June 7th as the date on which their choice is likely to be made public.

OPINION

We all probably know that answer to this one already, in truth. It would be a shock at this stage if either Sturridge or Moreno were offered a new deal by the club, but sometimes in these situations it can feel as if they are set to rumble on forever. In this scenario, what does the expiration of a contract actually mean? The season is over, both players are out of contract, and yet both are still on the books and will likely travel with the rest of the squad for a warm weather training camp in Spain before the Champions League final. It leads to this weird limbo for player and supporter, and sometimes just having everything set out nice and clearly can go a long way to clarifying what is happening during a murky part of the season. Nothing is concrete, but it would appear that time is up at Anfield for Sturridge and Moreno.
