Former Liverpool player Don Hutchinson has urged the Reds to make a summer move for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele could be sold by Barcelona this summer were they to receive a decent offer for the France international, with the Spanish champions believing the forward is too prone to injury and has problems with his lifestyle of the pitch in Spain, according to Sport.

Taking to his personal Twitter account on Wednesday Hutchinson urged Liverpool to take advantage and make a move for Dembele this summer, writing: “Go on Liverpool go sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona, I double dare you.”

OPINION

It would be interesting to see Liverpool make a move for Dembele this summer, as Hutchinson has urged them to do and the Frenchman would certainly be an exciting addition at Anfield were the reds to bring him in from Barcelona. However, the Reds are unlikely to be wanting to investing heavily in the transfer market this summer having already spent a lot of money on new recruitments in the last few transfer windows. The attacker though would definitely add some extra competition and quality to Liverpool’s attacking options next season, with Jurgen Klopp’s side at times lacking in forward options with injuries to both Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah this season. However, even though Hutchinson would welcome the potential addition of Dembele this summer, it is unlikely that the Reds will be wanting to pay the type of money required to bring in the Frenchman during the transfer window. Although it would certainly be interesting to see what would happen if Liverpool were to bring in Dembele this summer.
