Liverpool supporters have long-awaited the arrival of teenage striker Rhian Brewster as a fully-fledged first team player, and it appears that they won’t have to be patient for much longer.

That’s because Reds boss Jurgen Klopp recently talked up the chances of the 19-year-old making a big impact at the club next term, telling the club’s official website: “He is the next really exciting prospect. If you see him training… next season will be his season, his first real season.”

He is the next really exciting prospect, next season will be his season. Those are big words from Klopp and they are particularly unusual in that they have been directed at a youngster who is yet to make his first team debut for Liverpool.

Obviously Brewster is no ordinary 19-year-old prospect. He has long been marked out for greatness, particularly after his exploits for England’s various youth sides.

To hear Klopp so excited about him and so confident that he will make an impact next campaign is extremely telling, and will surely have the Reds faithful licking their lips.

To be fair, Liverpool will need some help in the final third next season. Obviously the side’s fearsome front three is expected to remain in situ, but beyond that there isn’t a lot in place ready for the next campaign.

Daniel Sturridge is almost certainly going to leave Anfield when his contract expires in a couple of months time, while Divock Origi may or may not have done enough to keep his Liverpool career alive in recent months.

Either way, Klopp will probably be looking for another attacker to come in and provide high level back up to his first choice front three. By the sounds of it, he has Brewster in mind for that particular role.

The Liverpool fans would love to see that become a reality next season. They have been excited about Brewster for a long time, and now the pay-off may finally be just around the corner.
