Leeds United have tabled a bid to sign Fulham starlet Cody Drameh, according to Sport Bible.

The online news outlet claims in an exclusive that Liverpool have been one of multiple Premier League clubs in pursuit of the 17-year-old right-back, but it is Leeds who have made the first move by offering just under £1million to the Cottagers.

It is understood that Drameh’s current deal with Fulham is set to expire at the end of the 2019/20 season and while he has been linked with a move to Germany, Championship side Leeds appear to be the most likely destination for the teenage defender this summer.

OPINION

Drameh is clearly a highly-rated young player and Liverpool’s interest is no surprise because he is young, has potential and English. Drameh could also be available on a cut-price deal this summer due to the fact his contract expires in 12 months’ time. Leeds’ bid is an issue for Liverpool because the Championship side offer a lot of chances to young players and have a great chance of winning promotion to the Premier League next season if Marcelo Bielsa can keep his squad together and make a couple of additions. If Drameh joined Liverpool he would have to wait a long time before even being considered to play in the first team. At Elland Road, he could get a senior debut in the next year based on how many of Leeds’ youngsters have made the grade under Bielsa. Liverpool need to at least match the Yorkshire club’s offer if they want to stand any chance of snapping Drameh up.
