OPINION
The Times journalist Paul Joyce revealed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that Italian giants AC Milan are sniffing around Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, but that it would take a bid of at least £25million to convince the Reds to sell. The verdict from the Liverpool faithful seems to be that they would be happy for the divisive Croatian to move on at this stage of his career. If the club’s sporting director Michael Edwards can manage to reel in £25million for a 29-year-old, fourth choice centre back, then, as one supporter says, they should build him a statue. He’s done a phenomenal job getting inflated fees for players that manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t need, and this would be another case of that. However, if Lovren doesn’t end up leaving then that’s no bad thing either. Having a World Cup finalist as your fourth choice centre back is a nice position to be in, so either way the Reds seem to be in a good spot here.

Lads, it's Edwards. For all we know, by the time the deal is done, A.C. Milan will have given us their 2007 UCL medals plus 100mil.
