Wycombe Wanderers attacker Adebayo Akinfenwa sent Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum a message on Instagram after photoshopping his head on the Dutch international’s body.

The 37-year-old Wycombe forward, who is nicknamed ‘The Beast’ due to his strength stats in popular video game series Fifa, created an Ultimate Team card from the game that was his head on Wijnaldium’s body.

Akinfenwa cheekily claimed that he didn’t think the Liverpool’s players body could take the size of his head, but claimed the Reds midfielder was still a “mini beast.”

“What u think @gwijnaldum I don’t think ur body can take my head size, but ur still a mini Beast  #Bants#Fifa20 #BeastMode #YNWA” wrote the Wycombe attacker via his personal Instagram.

OPINION

Well, this is odd. If there was an award for weirdest Instagram post, then Akinfenwa’s message to Wijnaldum would easily be a contender. While the 37-year-old is a known Liverpool fan, and enjoys banter with some members of Jurgen Klopp’s side; this post came out of nowhere. It’s unclear what possessed Akinfenwa to photoshop him and Wijnaldum together, and it’ll be interesting to see if he replies. However, as for the Wycombe forward dubbing Wijnaldum “mini beast”, Liverpool fans may love that. The 28-year-old was regularly seen using his strength to his advantage in his 2018/19 campaign, even if he isn’t as muscular as Akinfenwa. Wijnaldum made 40 tackles, had a tackle success rate of 68%, registered 21 interceptions and won 131 duels in his 35 league outings during his latest campaign (Source: Premier League). Aside from using his strength, Wijnaldum also showed off the technical side of his game last season. The 28-year-old made 1,769 passes, played 57 accurate long balls and even contributed three goals in his league outings.
