Outgoing Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has sent a heartfelt message to the Reds supporters after officially leaving the Reds.

The Hungarian international’s four year stay at Anfield has now come to an end, and Bogdan has taken the opportunity to wish the fans a fond farewell.

“4 years ago I signed for Liverpool FC, now It’s time to say goodbye,” he wrote in a post on his personal Instagram account. “I want to say thank you for the people who supported me, gave me the chance to play for this huge club and who helped me get through hard times.

“I will always feel privileged that I belonged to Liverpool FC, trained and played with such fantastic players. I’m sure the club will be successful for a long time coming, because the people working for them are simply amazing. I would like to wish YOU the very best for the future! #ynwa.”

OPINION

This is nice to see from Bogdan. He was always signed to be a third or fourth choice goalkeeper and that’s what his role proved to be at Anfield. However, he carried it out well and was always a solid presence on Merseyside. He’s a decent ‘keeper with some good experience at Bolton Wanderers, as well as in the loan spells with Wigan Athletic and Hibernian which he embarked upon while a Reds player. He’s still someone who could do a solid job for a Championship, League One or Scottish Premiership club, while there’s always the option of moving back to his homeland of Hungary. He could also simply elect to take up the role he’s had at Liverpool at another big club in England. Tottenham Hotspur could be a good destination for him after they got rid of Michel Vorm. There won’t be too many Liverpool fans gutted at Bogdan’s departure, but they’ll appreciate his kind words here and respect his commitment to the cause throughout his time at Anfield.
