Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster has been included in a list of breakout players to watch in the Premier League next season.

Sky Sports compiled a list of five top flight players who are most likely to emerge from relative obscurity to make a big impact next time out.

The 19-year-old was included due to manager Jurgen Klopp’s reluctance to sign a new forward after Daniel Sturridge’s departure on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Now, the Englishman is being tipped for a fairly substantial role in the Reds squad next term. Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, Watford’s Domingos Quina, Southampton’s Michael Obafemi and Arsena’s Reiss Nelson were the other names on the list.

OPINION

Brewster, you could argue, is the most obvious name on this list. He has seemingly been groomed for a first team squad place for some time now, and is thought of as one of the most promising young strikers in the country. Unfortunately, injuries have delayed his first team breakthrough, but it appears the 2019/20 season will be the one where he truly makes his mark at Premier League level. Arsenal’s Nelson is probably Brewster’s closest competition out of this group for who will make the biggest impact next time out. The Englishman is returning to the Gunners from an extremely impressive loan spell with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim during the second half of last season. The youngster really excelled over in Germany and will be expected to challenge for a first team spot at the Emirates next term. Quina and Obafemi both played a handful of top flight games last season and will expect to further their progress next campaign, while Greenwood is clearly highly rated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
