Championship outfit Hull City are eyeing a double loan deal for Liverpool youngsters Herbie Kane and Ben Woodburn this summer, according to Goal.

The outlet claims that the Reds are expected to sanction loan exits for the two starlets, with northern side Hull interested in bringing them both to the KCOM Stadium.

The two players enjoyed contrasting 2018/19 seasons. Kane excelled on loan at League One side Doncaster Rovers, where current Hull boss Grant McCann was manager, playing 49 times in all competitions for the Play Off semi-finalists.

Woodburn, on the other hand, made just seven displays for now-Premier League side Sheffield United, before returning to Anfield from his loan spell ahead of schedule in October.

OPINION

It would be ideal for both these players to go out and have another spell away from Liverpool, because they’re not going to get any first team football at Anfield at the moment. Kane was phenomenal for Doncaster last campaign, playing a big part in their push to the Play Offs, performing regularly and clearly winning the admiration of McCann. It’s no surprise that the manager he worked with last season wants to bring him in again this term – that’s a huge credit to him and an indication of how well he performed last time out. Woodburn, though, badly needs a profitable spell away from Merseyside after his disaster at Bramall Lane. It simply didn’t work out for him with the Blades, under the watchful eye of one of the best managers in the country in Chris Wilder, which is concerning in the extreme. Perhaps he needs a step down to the League One level Kane performed so well at, whereas the 20-year-old is probably ready for a move to the second tier.
