Liverpool could send as many as 12 more players out on loan this summer, according to Goal.

The Reds have already sent Sheyi Ojo and Marko Grujic to Rangers and Hertha Berlin respectively, and it is understood that there are plenty of candidates to follow in their footsteps.

According to the report: “All of Ben Woodburn, Ryan Kent, Harry Wilson, Ovie Ejaria, Herbie Kane, Kamil Grabara, Liam Millar, Pedro Chirivella, Anderson Arroyo and Taiwo Awoniyi are expected to leave on loan.

“Others – such as the teenage duo Curtis Jones and Adam Lewis – could follow.

“All have suitors already.”

OPINION

This would be a fantastic summer of business for the Reds if they can get all of that bright young talent out the door and developing elsewhere. Given the choice between U23s and regular senior football, there can only be one winner in terms of which is more beneficial for young players. Look at the progress made like somebody like Harry Wilson last season. 21 goals in all competitions and 2.5 key passes per game for Derby County [Whoscored], and he looked for large spells as if he was ready to make the step up to the Premier League. That would never have happened had he just been playing friendlies at Melwood. Similarly, Ryan Kent went to Rangers and won the Scottish PFA’s young player of the year award. There are vast benefits to going out on loan, and the hope will be that Liverpool can reap those rewards when their army of young prodigies return to Merseyside.
