Borussia Dortmund have made an approach to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football outlet claim that the Champions League giants are eager to try and secure the 22-year-old before the summer transfer window closes.

Football Insider report that Dortmund want to test Klopp’s resolve regarding the £25million-rated forward, and have expressed their interest in signing Wilson on a permanent deal.

Wilson has been the center of attention since his recent successful loan-spell at Derby County, where he was the Rams’ top-scorer in the Championship with 16 goals, helping guide them to the play-off final where they eventually lost.

OPINION

There is no surprise that Wilson has gathered all of this attention after his outstanding year at Derby. Many clubs are in line to try and prize him away from Anfield, and should an offer close to £25million be made, Liverpool should snap it up without thinking. The 22-year-old is untested in the top-flight and to receive that sort of fee would be a masterstroke by the Reds. Klopp has recently been reported by the Mirror to have made a promise to Wilson, that he will be given first-team minutes next season, and under that logic, Wilson will most likely be staying put. The Welsh international will just want consistent football after back-to-back years at Hull and Derby where he got just that. The Bundesliga has attracted some of the Premier League’s brightest talents in recent years, with Jadon Sancho and Ademola Lookman just a couple of the attacking starlets to make the leap to Germany in seasons gone by. Wilson will no doubt want to stick at Anfield and at least give it a shot at succeeding, especially after Klopp’s plans were revealed.
