COMMENTARY
Many Liverpool fans were left in awe of James Milner after he once again was the last man standing during the club’s gruelling lactate test. The Reds’ official Twitter account shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the final lap of the fitness test, which saw Milner go head-to-head with Joe Gomez, and it was no surprise when the former England international crossed the line ahead of the defender. Milner showing off his fantastic stamina once again, which seems to be a yearly occurrence, had one Liverpool fan dub him a complete machine while another called him an animal who could handle 10 more laps. What more can be said about Milner that the Liverpool fans below don’t say? It’s impressive that the 33-year-old outlasted all of his younger teammates and that he continues to be Jurgen Klopp’s very own Benjamin Button as his performances show no signs of age catching up with him. Milner racked up one Man of the Match award, five goals, four assists and a pass completion rate of 84.6% in the 31 league outings he made in his 2018/19 campaign (Source: Who Scored), and he’ll likely rack up equally as good stats in his upcoming campaign (Source: WhoScored).
