OPINION

The reign of Jurgen Klopp has seen Liverpool transform into a different animal, both domestically and in Europe. After four years in charge, the German finally won his first piece of silverware in the biggest way possible – the club’s sixth Champions League success in their history. Klopp himself has enjoyed the best managerial spell in his career, averaging his best point per game average of any club that he has managed with 1.97 [Source: Transfermarkt]. The desire and hunger to succeed have rubbed off on his squad, who have become more of a family than just teammates under the 52-year-old. With three years left on his current deal, Klopp was asked how long he expects to remain in charge at Anfield. Klopp replied, as quoted by journalist James Pearce on his personal Twitter account: “We will see. At least 3 years, that’s the answer.” The German boss clearly opted to play it coy by just pointing to the current length of his contract. To lose Klopp would be the worst possible scenario to anyone involved with Liverpool, with the German having fully cemented his philosophy whilst in charge. Many Liverpool fans took to Twitter to respond to Pearce’s tweet, with one fan begging Klopp not to leave, “I don’t care if you win anything Jurgen, just stay with us forever.”
