Adam Lallana is the latest player to be targetted by Liverpool fans for his performance in a meaningless pre-season friendly against a strong Sporting CP side. What is it with these fans? It just seems like there is an irrational hatred of the former Southampton midfielder and anything he does is criticised in such an over-the-top way. Lallana’s has been injured quite a lot and while Liverpool could definitely find themselves an upgrade on the midfielder, Jurgen Klopp still needs to see what he can do in pre-season and help build up his match fitness. If Lallana does that then he will be ready for the start of the new season and also stand more of a chance of attracting bids for other clubs. No one is going to bid for a player who hasn’t proven his fitness after a long-term spell on the sidelines. These fans really need to ease off Lallana – it’s just a friendly.
