Dani Alves won the 40th trophy of his career last week when Brazil beat Peru to clinch the Copa America title and unbelievably, the 36-year-old remains a free agent after his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired at the end of last season. It is no surprise to see so many Liverpool fans taking to Twitter to urge the club to sign Alves, especially after seeing how well he performed for Brazil while playing alongside Alisson and Roberto Firmino at Copa America. Alves, as one fan points out, is a serial winner and while Liverpool don’t usually tend to sign older players, they could surely make an exception in this case. Just imagine how much Alves could help Trent Alexander-Arnold improve because at the moment, the England international is showing that he has the potential to go on and be better than Alves. Nathaniel Clyne has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer so signing a back-up right-back could be something on Jurgen Klopp’s to-do list. He could do worse than signing Alves.

A move for Dani Alves to Liverpool would be absolutely amazing. Wage bill would be a bit tough but he would take Trent under his wing and it could be a great move for a legend #LFC

Dani Alves is a free agent now, I'd love to see @LFC go for him as backup for TRENT.
With his experience and ability, he'll be a great asset to the team and will surely help Trent move up to the next level.— O L A W A L E (@Wale_XYZ) July 6, 2019
