Fulham sensation Ryan Sessegnon has delivered a five-word message of congratulations on Instagram to new Liverpool signing Harvey Elliott.

The Reds confirmed the transfer of the 16-year-old, with Goal reporting that Jurgen Klopp managed to beat Arsenal, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid for the Premier League’s youngest-ever player.

Sessegnon posted a comment on his former teammates’ personal Instagram account on Sunday, simply saying, “Congrats lil bro, keep pushing.”

Liverpool have been reported by Bleacher Report to hold an extensive scouting report on Sessegnon, who according to Daily Express in April, had been rated at £40million by newly relegated Fulham.

The signing of Elliott is the Reds’ second signing of the window after the arrival of 17-year-old defender Sepp van den Berg.

OPINION

Seeing Sessegnon pop up on Elliott’s Instagram post will no doubt have whet the appetite of all Liverpool fans, who will no doubt have been praying and hoping to see both grace the Anfield turf for many years to come. The arrival of Elliott is an exciting prospect, with the 16-year-old going straight into the squad to make his debut on Sunday against Napoli – which is vital should Klopp want to utilise him in the Premier League next season after his debut at the end of the last campaign. With only 18 minutes of top-flight experience, it is more likely that Elliott will be used in the academy, with the idea to push him towards a more consistent feature in the senior squad. Despite the extensive scout report on Sessegnon, it is highly unlikely that the two will be teammates next season, with reputable news outlet Football Insider reporting that Tottenham are confident of securing a deal. Elliott’s arrival is an exciting one no doubt, but Reds’ fans will have to forget about Sessegnon following the 16-year-old.
