Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to heap praise on Liverpool star Mo Salah.

The Egyptian King was at the top of his game in the 3-1 win over Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening, scoring twice, the second of which was an eye-catching solo effort that saw him leave David Luiz in his dust.

And the Match of the Day host was quick to hail the 27-year-old.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Lineker said: “Poor again from Luiz, but superb from the brilliant Mo Salah.”

OPINION

Realistically, what can you say about Mo Salah that hasn’t already been said? There is nobody in the Premier League who can turn a game on its head in the way that the little winger can. Against Arsenal on Saturday, the Reds were by no means home and hosed with their one goal league at half time, but in the quarter of an hour after the interval, he tore the Gunners to shreds. His second goal was particularly special, and the way that he turned David Luiz and left him for dead was genuinely world class. When all is said done though, what else would you expect from him? Salah has started the season at an electric pace, hitting three goals and an assist in his first three games of the campaign. He has also averaged 3.3 shots per game, as well as 1.7 dribbles and 1.7 key passes, as per Whoscored. He is a whirlwind of a player, and if he can continue this kind of form over the course of the season then who knows what the Reds could achieve with him spearing the charge.
