Gary Lineker was impressed by Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah after a young fan shared what happened after he ran into a lamppost while chasing the footballer’s car.

Young football fan Louis Fowler busted his nose after running into a lamppost due to being so focused on getting the Liverpool forward’s attention while he drove home, as per the BBC, and shared on the Victora Derbyshire show that Salah came to check on him and was really worried about him.

Lineker upon hearing about the incident sent a four-word tweet to share that he thought it was a delightful tale.

“This is a delight,” wrote Lineker on his verified Twitter account.

OPINION

Lineker won’t be the only one who finds this young fan’s tale delightful as it’s quite a lovely little story, barring the broken nose. The fan was clearly so in awe of his hero that he lost all sense of where he was and painfully smacked into a lamppost. Given that the kid admitted running into a lampost was worth it as he got to meet Salah, it shows how much the Liverpool forward is idolised. This tale also shows how nice Salah is off-the-pitch. The 27-year-old winger was sweet enough to check in on the boy when noticing he got hurt, and it’s safe to say not everyone would be that aware to do that. Salah taking the time to see if the young fan was okay, showed how classy he was and likely made the boy’s day. With Salah continuing to be an inspiration off the pitch, hopefully, he continues to be one on the field as well. The 27-year-old got a goal and assist in the Reds’ 4-1 victory over Norwich City on Friday and Jurgen Klopp will want him to keep producing the goods throughout the season.
