Despite a big deflection on the long-range effort, the goal went down as Wilson’s first of the season on his first full Bournemouth appearance under Eddie Howe.
OPINION
Wilson would have felt great after his first taste of Premier League action on Saturday after his debut goal. The message received from Klopp will have also have motivated him even further to continue his good form. It only proves that Liverpool keep a track of all their loaned out players, and are celebrating their success with one eye on next season when they can potentially make the step up to the Reds’ squad. Liverpool will have been delighted with Wilson, who attempted five shots on goal and looked a threat all afternoon against Dean Smith’s side. On top of that, the 22-year-old also created chances for his teammates, completing 21 passes at a success rate of 90.5%, according to WhoScored. The Reds will want him to continue that form going into the season and urge him to keep taking advantage of spaces in behind opposition midfielders as he looks to make the step up to the top-flight.
