OPINION
Rhian Brewster is one of the most exciting young players in the Liverpool squad but it seems as though chances might be limited for the 19-year-old this season after he was left out of the team to play against Manchester City on Sunday. Liverpool confirmed their team via their official Twitter account ahead of the game, and understandably, there were a lot of fans on social media who were less than happy with Brewster’s exclusion. Brewster featured a lot in pre-season friendlies but didn’t even manage to get on the bench for the Community Shield showdown at Wembley. There’s still time for Brewster to make a mark because this is the first competitive match of an entire season. But it’s still odd that he wasn’t selected at all. Maybe it is best for the young striker to get a loan move away from Anfield before the transfer deadline on Thursday. If not, it could be a wasted campaign in the Liverpool Under-23s.
