Adrian may have made the match-winning save in Liverpool’s penalty shoot-out win against Chelsea on Wednesday, but fans on Twitter were extremely critical of the goalkeeper’s distribution throughout the 90 minutes. Adrian has never really been known for the way he passes the ball out from the back. It was a typical display by the former West Ham goalkeeper in Istanbul because he made some very good saves to keep the Chelsea attack at bay but he also puts himself into no man’s land at times. The penalty decision against him in extra time was very harsh but he still put himself in a position where the referee had a decision to make when he didn’t have to come rushing out. Adrian’s passing was the big issue for many on Twitter but when he is saving a penalty to win the Super Cup final, who cares? Liverpool should be fine with Adrian playing while Alisson Becker is injured.
