Borussia Dortmund are set to table a bid to sign Liverpool forward Bobby Duncan amid uncertainty surrounding the youngster’s future at Anfield, according to 90min.

The news outlet claims that following a recent dispute with the Merseyside club, Dortmund are ready to make a move for the 18-year-old, who has made two appearances for the Reds’ Under-23s in Premier League 2 this season.

Duncan’s agent Saif Rubie claimed earlier this week in a statement on Twitter, that has since been deleted, that Liverpool were “mentally bullying” his client and stopping him from leaving the club despite him wanting out.

OPINION

Borussia Dortmund are one of the top clubs in Europe, so if Duncan wants to join them amid this latest interest, no one can blame the highly-rated teenager. If he wants game-time and does not see himself having much of a future at Anfield then Dortmund could be the place to go based on Jadon Sancho’s experience in Germany. Sancho quit Manchester City, like Duncan did last year, because he did not see himself getting the chance to break into their senior squad. However since moving to Dortmund, Sancho has become one of the top attacking players in the Bundesliga and is now a regular for England. Sancho is only 19-years-old – one year older than Duncan, who is yet to make a single senior appearance in his career. Duncan should try to see if Liverpool will accept Dortmund’s offer for him but it needs to happen in a professional way. That means no statements on Twitter.
