Andy Robertson has hailed Liverpool teammate Divock Origi for his heroics in last season’s dramatic Champions League comeback over Barcelona.

The 24-year-old Belgian striker struck twice in a famous 4-0 win for the Reds at Anfield, and even four months after the event, Robertson has been eager to sing his praises.

When asked about the match during an interview with James Milner for the Reds’ official Youtube channel, he said: “Oh, what a comeback!

“Divock Origi, what a man!”

OPINION

Robertson speaks for every single Liverpool fan around the world here. Divock Origi was out in the cold this time last season, and it looked for all the world as if he would remain there for a long, long time. But his heroics at Anfield that night in May have not only revitalised his career on Merseyside, but essentially guaranteed that he will forever be a hero amongst the Kop. Aside from his display that evening, however, Origi has shown himself to be a very able and valuable asset to Jurgen Klopp. The Belgian was dispossessed less than one time per appearance in the Premier League last season, as per Whoscored, and also managed 3.2 shots on goal per 90 minutes too. He is a live wire, and unlike some of his teammates, a robust and powerful option who can tire and unsettle defences in the closing stages of matches. As Robbo puts it, what a man.
