Former Premier League footballer Robbie Savage has raved over five Liverpool players who he believes to be amongst the ‘world’s best’.

The Reds have numerous world class talents in their team these days, which is why they are European champions, and Savage believes they will go on to become English champions this season as well.

“Let’s put it out there — Liverpool are going to end 30 years of hurt in the title race because their front three is the best in the world,” he wrote in his Daily Mirror column. “As a unit, right now I would take Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane ahead of any forward line. They are harder to stop than Barcelona, even with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

“As well as the holy trinity up front, Liverpool also have the world’s best defender, Virgil van Dijk, and one of the world’s best goalkeepers, Alisson Becker.”

So Savage believes Liverpool are finally going to get the job done and secure the Premier League title this season based on the strength of their attack. Given how spectacular the Reds’ front three are, there’s not much arguing with that statement. When you consider the finest front threes in the world, do Liverpool have the best? Savage seems to think so, but there is plenty of competition. First there’s teams from within their own division. Manchester City have Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling; Arsenal: Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. However, the Reds have the edge over both of them. European level, then. Barcelona are the obvious ones with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann, but there’s also Paris Saint-Germain with Kylian Mbappe, Edison Cavani and Neymar. Overall, though, as a unit and how they seamlessly work together, Liverpool probably do have the best front three in world football.
