Peter Crouch has labelled Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho as the perfect fit for Liverpool after his performance for England against Kosovo.

The former Manchester City forward scored his first two goals for Gareth Southgate’s side, and Crouch has tipped the exciting prospect to return to the Premier League in the future.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Crouch was in awe of the 19-year-old and claimed that a number of the top Premier League sides could make a move for his services.

“Then there is Jadon Sancho,” he said.

“All being well, he will return to the Premier League. Clubs will be queuing up to sign him and while there has been noise about him joining Manchester United, I wonder whether Liverpool might actually be the perfect fit.”

“It would not surprise me to see him at Anfield.”

Sancho has made four appearances for Dortmund this season and has been involved in seven goals in the process after he assisted two goals on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Athletic journalist James Pearce claimed that the 19-year-old agreed to a new £190,000-a-week deal at the beginning of this season, which could make any possible deal difficult.

OPINION

There is no denying the fact that Sancho has been exceptional since completing his move to Dortmund at the beginning of last season. The decision to leave Manchester City and fast track his exposure to senior football has been one of the best choices he will most likely ever make. It made Southgate take notice of him and his breakthrough into the senior national side will clearly grab the attention of some of the Premier League’s best. Liverpool’s front-three pride themselves on their skill on the ball, and their ability to create something from nothing, something that Sancho has perfected in his early career. The youngster has completed 3.7 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga so far this season and has also averaged two shots on goal and 2.3 key passes in each outing according to WhoScored – stats that prove how dangerous he can be in the final third. The way he conducts himself on the ball is very similar to the way Liverpool’s front three play and Crouch could be spot on with his verdict on the skilful star.
