Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has been included in talkSPORT’s list of the top 10 Premier League signings of the summer.
The Spaniard arrived on Merseyside from West Ham United on a free this summer, and the sports radio station included him in the list on their website.
The entry read: “If someone said last season that Adrian would be one of the best signings of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, you’d think they were taking the p***.”
“But the Spanish stopper, despite making a few blunders, has proved to be a handy replacement for Alisson after the Brazilian picked up an injury against Norwich within minutes of the season starting.”

It shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone that Adrian has proved himself to be a solid top flight ‘keeper this campaign. He was at West Ham for a long time and was their number one shot-stopper for the majority of that time. He was only kept out of Manuel Pellegrini’s team by the superlative Lukasz Fabianski last time out. So this is a proven, quality goalkeeper, and the perfect deputy at a club like Liverpool. Alisson’s injury threw him in at the deep end for the Reds, but he has responded excellently. He’s made a number of key saves in both the Premier League and Champions League, and deserves his spot in this top 10 ranking. The statistics tell you that he has been solid between the sticks, despite not having a whole lot to do thus far. As per WhoScored.com, the 32-year-old is averaging 1.6 saves per game this term, with 0.6 of them coming from inside the penalty area. His average rating per outing of 6.40 tells you that he’s not been the busiest stopper, but that he’s done well when called upon.
