Tony Cascarino has named Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho in his Premier League team of the week.
The pair both starred as the Reds continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Tottenham at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s men had to battle back from a goal down when Harry Kane opened the scoring after just 47 seconds for the visitors, but strikes from Jordan Henderson and Mo Salah ensured that the hosts took all three points.
It was Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho who caught Cascarino’s eye, however, with the pundit electing to put both in his XI, as named in The Times.

To be fair to Cascarino, he’s on the money with this one. Both Fabinho and Alexander-Arnold were fantastic on Sunday, and key factors in the Reds picking up the win. The young defender made a colossal seven key passes, as per Whoscored, and desired his match rating of 7.62. As for Fabinho, his four tackles, three interceptions, and two key passes, as per Whoscored, once again proved why he is coming be regarded as one of the finest central midfielders in the contemporary game. He is masterful when it comes breaking up play, but accomplished enough to cause a real threat when it comes to building attacks from deep too. If he continues in this vein, he is nailed on for a place in the team of the season, surely.
