Liverpool have won their court case against New Balance and are now set to have their kits manufactured by Nike from next season onwards – but how does their potential new deal stack up against their top-six Premier League rivals?

According to Evening Standard journalist David Lynch, the door is now open for Liverpool to agree a £30million-a-year deal with Nike.

However, if they manage to agree that deal, then it would only be a fraction of what rivals Manchester United are receiving per season from German sportswear company Adidas.

The Independent reported earlier this year that Man United’s kit deal is worth a staggering £75million-a-year while Arsenal make £30million-a-year from Puma and Chelsea, who are also signed up with Nike, pocket £60million each season.

Manchester City’s deal with Puma is worth a reported £65million-per-year [Mirror] and Tottenham’s deal with Nike equates to £30million-a-year [Daily Mail].

It would seem that Liverpool’s deal with Nike is quite average on the face of it when stacked up with the likes of the two Manchester clubs.

However what makes Liverpool’s deal stand out is that they are reportedly guaranteed 20 per cent of all net sales of merchandise.

In comparison, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal receive 10 to 15 per cent.

Liverpool’s rise to become European champions under Jurgen Klopp has unlocked a door that could see the Merseyside club restore itself as the best team in England once again, especially as the side currently sits six points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds have always had a huge following and you can guarantee that you will see the club’s famous badge on shirts and merchandise in practically every corner of the globe.

But this new era that has begun at Anfield may see that 20 per cent clause in the deal become the most valuable aspect of it and really allow Klopp to make some big-money additions to a squad that is already the best in the continent.
