Adam Lallana is a wanted man ahead of January and Serie A giants Napoli and Roma could make a swoop to sign the Liverpool midfielder in the New Year, according to Football Insider.

The news outlet claims that the Reds could pocket £10million for the 31-year-old, who is yet to start a single Premier League or Champions League fixture this season and is currently set to be out of contract by next summer.

Napoli beat Liverpool 2-0 in the Champions League group stages last month but it seems as though they could raid Jurgen Klopp’s squad for one of it’s fringe players when the next transfer window opens.

OPINION

Liverpool should bite anyone’s arm off who comes in with £10million for Lallana. The former Southampton midfielder is clearly not in Jurgen Klopp’s plans at the moment with him appearing just six times in all competitions. Lallana’s only start came in the Carabao Cup win against MK Dons last month so it is clear that Klopp has other players ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. Lallana is also earning a lot of money with statistics website Spotrac reporting that his weekly wage is an eye-watering £110,000-a-week. Imagine playing as a substitute every now and then to earn that much money. Liverpool are losing money on Lallana but if Napoli or Roma come in for him in January then there is a way for the Reds to cut their losses. Not only would they make £10million in transfer fees, but saving that weekly spend on his wages could be very useful in the long run.
