Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s rise over the past few years has been absolutely meteoric, with the England international now considered one of the finest full backs in world football.

We saw another glimpse of his tremendous attacking abilities on Wednesday night, when he provided the assist for Andrew Robertson’s goal against Red Bull Salzburg in the Reds’ crazy 4-3 Champions League victory at Anfield.

Former Premier League manager Ian Holloway was one of those left blown away by the 20-year-old, telling talkSPORT [03/10; 06:10]: “Trent Alexander-Arnold is probably the best creative full back I’ve ever seen.”

The youngster will surely be left bursting with pride after hearing that one. Holloway is one of the game’s great characters, and has been involved in football for almost forty years all told.

For him to consider Alexander-Arnold as THE BEST creative full back he’s ever seen in all his years is quite a compliment for the Liverpool starlet.

The statistics back up his claim, though. So far this season, as per WhoScored.com, Alexander-Arnold has scored once and bagged two assists in all competitions.

Furthermore, the Englishman is currently averaging 1.3 shots, 3.3 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per game. Meanwhile, his average WhoScored rating per game is an excellent 7.32 in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, as per PremierLeague.com, the youngster has created five big chances in the top flight this campaign, the third most in the division behind Kevin De Bruyne and teammate Roberto Firmino.

Alexander-Arnold is a phenomenal young talent, and his attacking ability is up there with any full back in world football. With Holloway’s stamp of approval, he can go on and get even better now.
