Liverpool defender Joe Gomez could leave the club in search of more consistent football this season, according to 90min.

The online source claim on their website that the 22-year-old is growing frustrated and is considering his options after falling behind Joel Matip in the pecking order at Anfield.

90min report that Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both in the hunt for the England international, with a number of European sides interested in loan moves on top of that.

It is suggested that Gomez would prefer to stay in the Premier League and that he is more than prepared to leave the club to get more minutes this season.

OPINION

Liverpool would surely be stupid to let Gomez leave the club at any stage, never mind in January or this season. The 22-year-old has come on leaps and bounds since joining from Charlton, and Jurgen Klopp will have big plans for his future going forward with both Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip cementing their spots currently. There is no moving the experienced duo at this moment and Gomez needs to remain patient right now before making any stupid decision to move away from the club. The England international has only played 91 minutes this season in the Premier League, and he will surely get the opportunity to get back into the side at some point this season. A move to London would simply not make sense, and Gomez needs to take a step back and reconsider his options before making any rash decision to leave the European champions who could run away with the Premier League this season.
