There has always been a lot of questions regarding the strength in depth in Liverpool’s squad as they aim for their first-ever Premier League title.

Compared to teams around them, such as Manchester City, the Reds have limited options available to them, which is proved by their lack of changes in their teams each weekend.

Jurgen Klopp appears to have found a starting 11 that works for him in the last year at Anfield, and as long as his side keeps on winning, there will be little chance for many others to break into the fold.

Players such as Adam Lallana have had to settle for chances in the Carabao Cup, whereas Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been given limited minutes in the Premier League.

Both Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain have voluntarily turned down the chance to have time off from Liverpool training during the international break to put in extra work at Melwood, according to ESPN.

The sports broadcaster claim on their website that the Reds’ duo have both been informed that they will have a big role to play between now and the end of the season at Anfield.

With a combined total of 208 minutes in the Premier League between them, the Reds’ duo must do more than volunteer for extra training to make a bigger impact on their side.

Lallana has been poor with his passing when utilised off the bench this season, only completing 50% of his passes according to WhoScored, and if he wants to make more of an impact in midfield, that is the first area he must drastically improve in.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been given more minutes by Klopp this season but is yet to have been involved in a single goal, averaging fewer shots on goal and key passes per game as his last full season.

Volunteering for extra sessions is definitely set to put the Liverpool pair in the good books, but they must not expect more game time from this and use it to become better on matchdays.
