Liverpool against Manchester United might not have the same ring to it as it has had in recent years.

The Reds have struggled against one of their biggest rivals in the history of the Premier League, but times have recently changed and Jurgen Klopp’s men go into the game at Old Trafford looking to continue their perfect start to the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed that the likes of David De Gea and Paul Pogba will miss the clash through injury, two players that will see his side considerably weakened [Sky Sports].

Mark Lawrenson has claimed that could considerably affect the home side, and Liverpool could certainly take advantage of their growing injury list.

Lawrenson has predicted that Liverpool will pick up all three points on Sunday, with a slender 1-0 victory to continue their winning streak.

“I just feel it is the same this time, with the amount of absentees United could have – they are talking about David de Gea being a doubt now too,” he wrote on his BBC Sport column.

“So I am going for a win for Jurgen Klopp’s side. They can just carry on doing what they are doing – it is working, so they don’t have to change.”

“It feels like they just cannot stop winning, which is the best trick it is possible to have.”

Pogba might not tick all of the boxes for Manchester United fans, but he definitely has a massive effect in the heart of midfield and will be a big miss. The Frenchman has averaged 1.8 shots on goal per game according to WhoScored, as well as completing 2.6 key passes – only Ashley Young has completed more passes.

De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and would be a massive miss on any squad, so Liverpool will be looking to put substitute keeper Sergio Romero under as much pressure as possible straight away on Sunday.

Lawrenson’s prediction only highlights how Liverpool could take advantage of the Red Devils when they travel to Old Trafford.
