Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to recall veteran midfielder James Milner against Genk on Wednesday night.

The 33-year-old was an unused substitute against Manchester United on Sunday, but can expect to come back in from the start in Belgium.

Captain Jordan Henderson was poor at Old Trafford and will likely drop out as a result. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah looks set to return if he’s fit enough on Wednesday.

His reintegration would surely see Divock Origi drop out, with the Belgian international also putting in a disappointing effort against the Red Devils.

Alisson returned between the sticks on Sunday and put in a mostly assured performance. Klopp will be keen to build his fitness back up and will likely give him another start for this Champions League clash.

Meanwhile, full backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are both almost certain to start here, despite not performing at their best on Sunday. However, there is very little competition at their positions these days.

At the heart of the defence, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk can both expect to get the nod. Fabinho, too, is almost certain to keep his place in holding midfield.

Alongside the Brazilian in central midfield will likely be Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum and the aforementioned Milner in for the skipper.

Salah is sure to come in for Origi if he is fit enough to play, which remains a big if after he missed the Old Trafford clash. Alongside him, though, it looks set to be business as usual, with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane likely to start once again.
