Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has admitted that he didn’t believe that he would get along with manager Jurgen Klopp when first moving to Anfield.

The Senegalese international shared that he thought the German spoke too much, something which he wasn’t used too as he was quiet.

Mane laughed about his early thoughts when asked, and went on to admit that Klopp is now a person that he tends to confide in about his personal life when in conversation.

“He was talking too much and I said, ‘Wow, this is going to be tough for me because I’m a little bit quiet’,” he told the Times.

The 27-year-old has already scored five goals in the Premier League this season, and currently is the Reds’ top-scorer.

OPINION

Any confusion Mane might have suffered from has clearly been thrown out of the window at Liverpool, and his relationship with Klopp has helped him become one of the best players in the world. The German has put together one of the world’s most clinical front three, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also being pivotal in Mane’s rise to the top. Klopp is definitely a loud and outspoken character, but that is one of the reasons that he is one of the best coaches. He has helped put together a family feel at Anfield, and that has clearly motivated Mane, who couldn’t make it more obvious that he is one of the biggest fans of his manager, despite his opening concerns. The 27-year-old won the Premier League Golden Boot award last season, and Klopp will be hoping that his management can bring plenty more of those awards.
