OPINION

Europe is home to some of the prolific young strikers in the world at this moment, and Liverpool seem hungry to get in on the action.

The Reds have been consistently linked with players who can come in and offer suitable cover to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in the next few years.

After being impressed in their Champions League clash against Red Bull Salzburg, Liverpool were reported by Calciomercato to be ready to challenge Juventus, Manchester United, and Tottenham for the signature of Erling Braut Haaland.

If the competition wasn’t enough for Haaland, Liverpool have also been reported by Calciomercato to be tracking the progress of PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen.

The 20-year-old is said to be an admirer of Jurgen Klopp’s side, who could risk missing out on the prolific forward after the same Italian outlet claimed that AC Milan were constantly following the starlet.

Milan are definitely going to be impressed with the Dutch international, who has shown no signs of slowing down in front of goal in the final third.

Malen has scored 13 goals in 11 appearances in the Eredivisie and the Champions League this season and is one of the hottest forwards in Europe.

The 20-year-old has gone from strength-to-strength since leaving Arsenal for the Dutch side and even scored in his international debut against Germany.

Milan are clearly very interested in Malen, and if Liverpool are serious with their pursuit of the forward then they must step up their interest or risk losing out in January or the summer.

To be constantly following a potential target only proves how highly they regard him, and Liverpool must use their power to overrule the Italian club, who don’t have Champions League football to offer the forward.

Liverpool are surely risking losing out on the 20-year-old, and they must step up to avoid missing out on Malen.
